Milwaukee real estate firm F Street Investments secured what it called a “substantial capital infusion” into a fund that loans money for home rehabs.
That money came through Brighton Asset Management, a private investment firm whose team includes former Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry of Avenue Capital Group; Dan Rappaport, the former CEO of the New York Mercantile Exchange; and Joseph Rappaport, director of sales and business development at Sylvan Asset Management, according to an F Street press release. Lasry in April sold his stake in the Milwaukee Bucks.
Dan Rappaport, managing member of Brighton, said the plan is to grow F Street’s existing platform and “explore new investment strategies to scale the business.”
The investment from Brighton goes into an F Street fund that launched in spring with the goal of raising $50 million to provide loans for real estate companies to acquire and rehab homes. Operating under The Hard Money Co. brand, F Street has been providing those types of loans since about 2009.
